Job Title: BI Developer

An experienced BI Developer is urgently required by our client with strong experience of the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server 2019, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI). You will be responsible for helping to build a new, best practice-based reporting solution which will function Enterprise-wide. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle on this project.

BI Developer – SSIS, Power BI Role and Responsibilities:
– Design and deliver innovative solutions as the company builds a modern, best practice reporting platform
– Play a key role on a product development programme using the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server 2019, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI)
– Work collaboratively within an Agile team of Developers, Testers and BA/ Product Owners on a set of new greenfield projects
– Observe object-oriented design and good practice design patterns and principles

BI Developer – SSIS, Power BI Developer Skills and Experience:
– Significant experience of the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server 2019, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI)
– In-depth understanding of SQL for querying and creation of tables, views and stored procedures
– Experience in designing ETL processes including knowledge of data warehousing strategies and theories
– Thorough knowledge of building dashboards, reports and cubes using SQL, MDX, DAX and Power BI
– Detailed understanding of dimension modelling

Providing an intuitive simple user experience is key to the way our client operates, so understanding business requirements and coming up with suitable solutions will be required. Ownership is a key part of the ethos as well and as such there is a responsibility to provide third line support of solutions in production if required.
